Ian Foraker - Cleantech Open West Director
Ian Foraker

Ian Foraker has played an active leadership role at the Cleantech Open since beginning as the volunteer Bay Area Director in 2013. Ian is committed to creating value both for the early-stage entrepreneurs who participate in our annual accelerator, and for the many stakeholders in our community who deliver this value - our mentors, pro bono leadership team, judges, partners, and sponsors.  

Ian comes to the Cleantech Open from PG&E, where he managed strategic industry engagement for the Customer Energy Solutions organization.  Before joining PG&E, Ian worked across diverse staff functions and consulting at Siemens, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and IBM.  Ian earned his MBA from New York University's Stern School and his BA from Williams College.  

Yuet Lee - Regional Advisor
Yuet Lee

Yuet Lee is a business and technology consultant focusing on clean tech projects. He is currently advising several startup companies in the energy efficiency and green building industry sectors. He has been a Cleantech Open volunteer since 2008 as a mentor and in various other capacities. He also mentors for several Bay Area incubators. Yuet has over two decades of achievement in technology and business for the communications industry. In his last and most recent corporate role, he led business development for Nortel – evaluating wireless, optical and enterprise data technologies and products, assessing business opportunities, building business cases, closing partnerships and investments with external companies. At Pacific Bell/SBC/ATT prior to Nortel, he managed successful introductions of broadband/IP networks, directed network architecture planning activities and the data products verification lab. He started his career leading network planning and engineering at Bell Labs/Bellcore. Yuet has a Ph. D. in Mathematics from MIT and has also completed an executive management program at the Kellogg Business School.

Denis Borzunov - Outreach & Recruiting Chair
Denis Borzunov

Denis helps to drive the operations of the acceleration program for Cleantech Open’s Western Region.

He has over 14 years of business and consulting experience, successfully leading sustainable operations and business transformation projects for industrial and telecommunication companies. A graduate from Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in economics and engineering, he holds an MBA from IE Business School.

Ryan Hoover - Major Events Chair
Ryan Hoover

Ryan Hoover is a Graduate Student getting his MBA in Sustainable Systems, and just finished his first year at Presidio Graduate School. As the CTO Western Region Event Chair, he has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team. His career interests lie in Renewable Energy and Event Planning. His role at Cleantech Open has been a perfect combination of the two. He loves planning, scheduling, and logistics and is excited to help make the 2018 program year the best one yet!

Neil Bellenie - Mentoring Program Co-Chair
Neil Bellenie

VP level executive with a proven track record delivering profitable business growth through close partnerships with strategic customers across the business cycle. Experienced in; Strategic Account Management; Joint product, technology and market development programs; customer service business and operations; supply-chain; and in large multinationals to startups. Industry exposure spans semiconductor, solar, scientific instrumentation and computer peripherals.

Joy Montgomery - Alumni Program Chair
Joy Montgomery

Joy Montgomery is a process improvement specialist. She uses common sense, systems development life cycle (SDLC) techniques, and constraints management to help businesses do things better, faster, and cheaper. Her passion is American Cleantech Manufacturing. Her presentation at an APICS International Conference, "Improving Productivity with Effective Communication," drew a standing room only crowd. Joy has been volunteering with the Cleantech Open since it was the California Cleantech and is currently the National and Western Region Alumni Chair. She was previously the Western Region Mentor Chair and is a connector, a pitch coach, and a mentor.

Andrea Nocito - Investor Co-Chair
Andrea Nocito

Andrea Nocito is a California lawyer and sustainability specialist.  As a new member of the Cleantech Open team, she is working on investor relationships, CTO outreach, and will serve as a specialist mentor for the upcoming cohort.  As a former Small Business Development Advisor, Policy Director, and Environmental Planner, Andrea has helped many start-ups and businesses grow their market share, improve their operations, obtain regulatory approvals, and secure funding. As an attorney, Andrea serves these same clients by advising on their contracts, development projects, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.

Andrea has a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco, and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University, New Orleans.

John Meissner - Judging Program Co-Chair
John Meissner

John is a Cleantech Open West (CTO-W) mentor and judging program co-chair. When not volunteering with CTO-W, John consults with startups, incubators, accelerators, innovation-centric organizations, and research institutions to develop early stage technologies into viable commercial ventures. John has launched several companies and research initiatives during his career and has over a decade of experience working in the renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability sectors. His engagements have included work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the World Bank, Cleantech Open West, Sandia National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, the Grant Farm, the California Clean Energy Fund, the California Sustainable Energy Entrepreneur Development Initiative (CalSEED), and several clean energy startups. John’s role with clients often involves strategic planning and implementation, technology commercialization support, business plan improvement, coaching and mentoring, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, fundraising, grant writing, and growth strategy.

David Libby - Public Relations and Marketing Chair
David Libby

David Libby is an award-winning social marketing professional who has over 10 years developing strategic public outreach and social media marketing campaigns for sustainability clients. Taking a consumer centric approach through using social marketing, David has effectively communicated sustainability initiatives to help clients understand people and their behavior. 

His recent client experience includes executing communications and social media marketing strategies for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District “Spare the Air” program which encourages Bay Area residents to reduce air pollution as well as leading public outreach efforts to promote liquid cooling for data centers on behalf of Cloud&Heat Technologies.

Susan Conner-Steeb - Central Coast Metro Director
Susan Conner-Steeb

Susan started with Cleantech Open in 2010 helping create a budget for the Los Angeles metro. Her role has grown to include accounting, finance and budgeting for CTO’s headquarters and acting as a finance specialist mentor. In 2017 Susan took on creating the Central Coast Metro.

She has over 20 years of financial and operations experience in music, entertainment and mobile technology with small, medium and large companies. Susan is the founder and principal of Segue Consulting Services, providing interim CFO or finance and operations management for early stage or growth companies. She began her career as an accountant for Ernst and Young in Los Angeles and holds a BA in accounting from California State University Northridge. She also enjoys flying her Bonanza, hiking and traveling to new places.

Stan Tomsic - Los Angeles Metro Director
Stan Tomsic

Stan Tomsic is a serial entrepreneur. His experience in the technology and green/clean tech industries spans over 25 years. He was founder and co-founder of several companies where he held management, executive and CEO positions and his contributions helped make these companies leaders in the industry. He is Managing Director of Magna Point Group, LLC, a firm specializing in strategic assistance, business consulting, investments and mergers and acquisitions for technology and services companies. He was the Executive Director of PortTech Los Angeles, a business commercialization and incubation center for Port related technologies and was Administrator of the Business Technology Center of Los Angeles County, an accelerator incubator for high technology entrepreneurial companies.

Stan is a Pasadena Angel, serves as a member of the board of directors and advisors for several technology companies, and is a member of numerous professional organizations. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Executive Committee of the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Business Incubation Network of Southern California (BINS) and Director of LA Metro for Cleantech Open. Stan frequently presents and speaks on entrepreneurship, incubation and high tech start-ups at conferences such as MIT Leadership Conference, the International Business Innovation Association’s (InBIA) International Conference, the TX Entrepreneur TEP Expo Conference in Tokyo, Japan, and the Global Clean Vehicle Summit, China.

Jane Richards - Los Angeles Metro Ambassador
Jane Richards

Jane has been a passionate advocate for sustainability for many years, showcased by her food and environment blog Green Eatz. In 2017, she graduated with distinction with a Sustainability Certificate from UCLA Extension, and she has been involved in environmental activism for over a decade.

Jane moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012, and began her long association with the non-profit Cleantech Open in 2013. Initially, she worked as an outreach ambassador but then moved on to include responsibilities for social media and website development. After moving to the Los Angeles area in 2018, she has once again taken on the role of metro ambassador and has also become involved in mentoring in corporate sustainability and pitching techniques.

Jane hails from the UK where she worked in software development, initially in analysis and programming. She showed her potential as a leader and was promoted to project management roles. She then started her own software consultancy, Beach Computers, specializing in financial legacy systems.  After moving to Australia in 2002, she studied and qualified as a nutritionist, reinforcing her interest in veganism and healthy eating.

Maria Saltz - Peninsula and South Bay Metro Director & Marketing Co-Chair
Maria Saltz

Maria Saltz is an experienced leader in the field of data-driven business strategy and marketing analytics having held number of positions in hi-tech companies in Silicon Valley. Currently Sr. Manager of Marketing and Customer Insights at Adobe, Maria also pursues her passion for protecting the environment and supporting growth of cleantech space by acting as a Marketing Chair for Cleantech Open West, a co-Champion of Adobe's San Jose Sustainability team, and an active member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. 

Maria holds a BBA in Quantitative Analysis and Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati and an MS in Engineering Economic Systems and Operations Research from Stanford University.

Vasudha Lathey - East Bay Metro Director
Vasudha Lathey

Vasudha Lathey is an experienced business professional with comprehensive clean energy domain expertise and a passion for increasing the adoption of innovative technologies that advance the world’s transition to sustainable energy. She brings to Cleantech Open her 17+ years of demonstrated success of delivering clean energy solutions by advising global clients how to maximize profits and reduce energy consumption/GHG emissions by technology innovation, regulatory compliance and effective adoption of market transformation initiatives.  Vasudha’ is skilled in all facets of new business development, information technology, project management, customer satisfaction, and team leadership. Vasudha’s clients have included Fortune 500 companies, utilities, governments, World Bank, USAID and other international organizations. She is excited to bring her experiences to advise and guide cleantech startups through the role of East Bay Metro Director. 

Vasudha holds a Ph.D. in Urban-Environmental Sustainability, M.S. Building Science and a Bachelor’s of Architecture.
