MOEV inc. leverages 7 years of DOE funding at UCLA to provide commercial solutions for EV charging and microgrids, and are currently developing a VBESS (Virtual Storage) solution for grid integration. The system includes sensors and control elements to manage storage, EV charging, and renewable generation, as well as a console for monitoring and management and a smartphone web application for managing the EV charging session. We leverage our utility feedback to make this system grid friendly, and respond to grid signals such as OpenADR for demand response. The result is lower power cost for the install site, better behaved loads from the grid point of view, and the ability to help integrate intermittent renewable generation.
