LOS ANGELES – October 9, 2020 – Cleantech Open, the world’s largest clean technology accelerator program, announced its annual flagship event Global Forum 2020 will be virtual and free to the public starting at 8 a.m., Oct. 23, 2020.

Global Forum brings together Cleantech Open’s current accelerator cohort of more than 100 cleantech companies to celebrate their progress, achievements, and impact in creating a sustainable, inclusive green economy. Organizers are expecting more than 400 industry leaders, cleantech entrepreneurs, sustainability experts, investors, and partner organizations to attend.

“We are advancing innovation and entrepreneurship for the purpose of reducing climate change,” said Executive Director, Ken Hayes of Cleantech Open. “For the last 15 years, we have brought industry leaders and experts in technology, operations, finance, and marketing together with start-ups to advise on the growth of their business. This year we had more than 230 professional mentors and 100 judges participate nationally.”

Today more than 65 percent of Cleantech Open alumni have viable businesses. This year there were 102 companies representing the West, Southeast, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Northeast regions of the US, plus Canada. At the Global Forum, the Top 20 will compete for the national prize of $50,000.

"The Cleantech Open has provided thousands of start-ups worldwide with a robust framework for developing a successful business and making a positive impact on saving the planet," said Paul Breslow, Innovation Director at EDF.
