About Cleantech Open West

Established in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2005 as the California Cleantech Open, Cleantech Open West has been working with early-stage cleantech startups for over a decade to help them advance to market.

We’re a non-profit network of over 500 pro bono professionals dedicated to find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges. Each year, we work with 25-50 startups across the West, providing them the structure, guidance, and connections to move their innovative cleantech ideas and technologies a step closer to market.

Now a program of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), Cleantech Open West works to increase the number of viable cleantech startups moving into the rapidly maturing cleantech commercialization support ecosystem across in the West. We’re an important player in the San Francisco Bay Area, our historic stronghold, and we’re rapidly expanding our presence in the burgeoning cleantech ecosystem in Southern CA.

We work in close partnership all the key players in the cleantech commercialization ecosystem in the West. This includes a deep relationship with the California Clean Energy Fund (CalCEF) in support of the California Sustainable Energy Entrepreneur Development (CalSEED) grant program.

Cleantech Open West a founding member of Cleantech Open, a national network of 8 regional accelerators focused on supporting early-stage cleantech entrepreneurs in their journey to market and impact.
